1. The Origin of Man.

   1. God created man from the dust of the ground on the sixth, literal, twenty-four hour day of creation. (Gen. 1:26-31)
       

   2. God created man in His own image, possessing a free will, intellect, authority, responsibility, and God-consciousness. (Gen. 1:26,27: I Thess. 5:23)
       

   3. God created man as a three part being, possessing body, soul, and spirit. (I Thess. 5:23; Heb. 4:12)
       

   4. The spirit and soul, though distinct, are both facets of the immaterial part of man. (Jer. 31:25; I Pet. 2:11; Rom. 8:16)
       

2. The Fall of Man.

   1. Man was created in innocence, but voluntarily fell from that state by sinning against his creator. (Gen. 3:1-6, 24)
       

   2. Because of this first act of sin, all mankind are now sinners, not only because they must be, but because they choose to be . (Rom. 5:12; Rom. 1:18, 32)
       

   3. Mankind is under just condemnation without defense or excuse. (Rom. 3:10-19)
       

   4. The Consequences of man's fall include both physical and spiritual death. Spiritual death, if not remedied by salvation, eventually results in eternal punishment in the lake of fire, and eternal separation from God. (Gen. 5:5; Is. 59:2; Jn. 8:24)
       

3. The Curse on Man.

   1. Death, both physical and spiritual, entered the world by Adam's sin. (Rom. 5:12)
       

   2. Women experience increased pain and suffering during child birth. They were also placed in subjection to their husbands . (Gen. 3:16)
       

   3. The earth has been cursed because of man's sin, resulting in exhausting labor being necessary to bring forth crops. (Gen. 3:17-19)
